USTs Strike Back! AWOL Vision Presents the New LuxVision

USTs Strike Back! AWOL VisionPresents the New LuxVision

Before many Aetherion Kickstarter backers have even had enough time to receive and properly enjoy their new Atherion projectors, AWOL Vision unexpectedly strikes again, this time with a brand-new UST model called LuxVision.

And from the first information, this does not look like a simple refresh.

The new LuxVision is a 4K 120Hz ultra short throw projector with RGB triple laser light engine, optical shift, 0.18:1 throw ratio, Dynamic Tone Mapping, 7-level Dynamic Iris, EBL black level technology and AWOL’s new Anti-RBE II system.

LPEven more interesting, LuxVision appears to use Texas Instruments’ new 0.47-inch DLP473TE DMD chip, driven through the dual DLPC8555 controller architecture. This is the same new-generation DLP approach we are starting to see in the most advanced 4K 120Hz projectors, allowing the DMD/XPR system to handle the much higher data rate required for 4K at 120 frames per second.

The most interesting part for me is definitely the optical shift, which allows vertical image adjustment without digital scaling or cropping. Anyone who has installed a UST projector knows exactly how important this can be.

AWOL clearly wants LuxVision to be taken seriously by gamers too. With 4K 120Hz, VRR, ALLM and a claimed 1ms input lag, the projector seems ready for next-gen gaming setups.

Oops, I almost forgot. According to AWOL Vision, LuxVision will deliver 5500 ISO lumens, Wow.

We will soon have LuxVision in our hands for a full in-depth review, so stay tuned.

USTs strike back, my friends.

And things are getting very interesting.
